Water-borne infections account for more deaths in Afghanistan than bombs and bullets. Only 27% of the population have access to clean drinking water with the problem being much more rampant in rural areas. Furthermore, it is estimated that 50% of clean drinking water sources are contaminated. Families are forced to walk for many miles to find the closest source of clean drinking water which poses tremendous hardships, especially on their children.
HHRFTP is committed to providing needy communities with access to clean drinking water by building deep water wells that can sustain a community for several years. HHRFTP is committed to building at least 10 wells each year. Please donate today towards this worthy project and help save precious lives.
